CERT Liason
Steve Hammond Cherokee County CERT Liaison
Steve Hammond is a proud citizen of Cherokee County as well as an inaugural member of Cherokee County’s CERT program. He is a licensed EMT, GEMA certified CERT instructor, member of the county's Amateur Radio Emergency Service/SKYWARN, and a member of the Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief.
In addition to that, Steve is also a GEMA certified Rescue Specialist and a trained SKYWARN Weather Spotter. He has also obtained training in several other areas including: Red Cross Introduction to Disaster Relief, Red Cross Damage Assessment, ARRL Emergency Communications EC-001 and EC-002. Steve has successfully completed classes through FEMA EMI, such as: Emergency Program Manager, Introduction to CERT, Incident Command, NIMS (National Incident Management System), and National Response Plan.
Steve will be working with the Office of Homeland Security-Emergency Management to coordinate with both existing and new CERT members to organize events, assist with classes, and brainstorm ideas for future projects.
