Emergency Operations Center

The Cherokee County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located in Canton, Georgia is a state-of-the-art multi-jurisdictional center that coordinates information and requests for resources during all types of emergency situations. Representatives from agencies and departments with responsibilities during emergencies or disastrous events staff the EOC to develop incident action plans and coordinate response and recovery operations to all of Cherokee County.
EOC Activation Levels
In a full-scale activation, all ESF agencies are notified. The EOC will be staffed by OHS-EM Management personnel and all Emergency Support Functions required to manage the emergency as determined by the Director.
This is a limited agency activation. All primary, or lead, Emergency Support Functions are notified. The EOC will be staffed by OHS-EM Management personnel and necessary Emergency Support Function Personnel.
Level 3 is typically a "monitoring" phase. Notification will be made to those Emergency Support Functions who would need to take action as part of their everyday responsibilities. The EOC will be staffed only with normal OHS-EM staff during assigned working hours during this level.
