Emergency Operations Center

The Cherokee County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located in Canton, Georgia is a state-of-the-art multi-jurisdictional center that coordinates information and requests for resources during all types of emergency situations. Representatives from agencies and departments with responsibilities during emergencies or disastrous events staff the EOC to develop incident action plans and coordinate response and recovery operations to all of Cherokee County.

EOC Activation Levels
1
Level 1

In a full-scale activation, all Emergency Support Functions (ESF) agencies are notified. The EOC will be staffed by EMA personnel and all ESFs required to manage the emergency as determined by the EOC Director.

2
Level 2

This is a limited agency activation. All primary, or lead, ESFs are notified. The EOC will be staffed by Emergency Management personnel and necessary Emergency Support Function Personnel.

3
Level 3

Level 3 is typically a "monitoring" phase. Notification will be made to those ESFs who would need to take action as part of their everyday responsibilities. The EOC will be staffed only with normal EMA staff during assigned working hours during this level.
